Magno

Born in Lima, Peru on 9/11/90.

I became a pro wrestling fan through Rey Mysterio Jr.’s early run in WCW in 1996. I never really became a fan until 1999. WWF was my fed to watch, and I just loved seeing The Rock’s promos translated to Spanish.

They were 10x times funnier in Spanish.

In Aug. 2000, I came to the States. Hoping to get an education. Still, an avid wrestling fan at 10, the first thing I bought at the airport was a Mick Foley vs. Stone Cold “Play Ring”.

Then, my English grew, and I started to watch wrestling again. I was a huge fan of the Invasion angle in 2001, and I didn’t want it to end.

My favorite workers were: Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, and The Rock.

Time passed by, and WWE, or wrestling in general became uninteresting.

A chilly Nov. 2005 night, I turned on the AM radio, whilst listening to George Sedano’s Fox Sports Radio show, he said:

“..And some very sad news, Eddie Guerrero, passed away in his hotel room over the weekend. He was found by his nephew, Chavo Guerrero.”

The next day, that was the big talk in school. I had no clue, that he was so popular!!!

I did not watch it from March 2005 – July 2006. In July 2006, I noticed: DX was back, Edge has the title, Cena moved to Raw, Eddie has passed on, Rey is a main eventer, there is a freak called The Great Khali who almost killed ‘Taker in a match, wrestling overall sucked balls, Flair and Foley were having a feud for the ages, ECW was back but with a little twist: it wasn’t ECW, this CM Punk guy who every “smart fan” had an orgasm about, Kurt Angle in a shooter gimmick which I adored, Orton pooping in Diva’s handbags, JBL: favorite color commentator

I caught on. Impressed by some PPVs, not impressed by some.

I heard about this TNA promotion and how they have the prestiged NWA title.

“NWA?  Wasn’t that dead, like15 years ago???” I asked myself.

I saw some of their regulars :

  • AJ Styles
  • Samoa Joe
  • LAX

I found out they also worked a promotion called “Ring Of Honor”

I saw the Samoa Joe – CM Punk “Best of 3″ for the World Title.  I loved it.  I saw AJ Styles vs. Paul London.  I saw Lo Ki v. KENTA in a match for the ages.  American Dragon Bryan Danielson v. Roderick Strong.  The Dragon Gate 6 Man Tag from SuperCard of Honor.  AJ Styles/Matt Sydal vs. Austin Aries/Jack Evans in a match that needs to be seen.

That was a very interesting read, what’s even more interesting is that you’re more articulate than most people born here in the states.
